It loyally follows in the footsteps of its elders while still packing quite a few and welcome number of more modern mechanics. On a closing note, Secrets of Grindea is the right kind of old-school RPG. You’ll be fighting slimes, bandits, carnivorous plants and of course, there are plenty of boss fights along the way. Before leaving on his noble and curious journey, his father gives him a magic bag (who has quite the attitude) that helps him in all his endeavours. Some minor quests/secrets have been added to give the player said fertilizer The Alchemist storyline can now be concluded with a final quest. In Secrets of Grindea you play as a young boy who has come of age and is required to take the necessary exam to become a Collector. In fact, if you want a small yet good example of how well things are done in Secrets of Grindea, swing your sword at the first chicken you find outside the character’s house. Colors are great, animations are smooth, audio effects are crisp and clear. It’s all visually appealing, from the first to the last pixel. The moment you set foot out of your house to begin the main quest you will realize that a lot of attention has been given to details. Captivating gameplay and entertaining storyline It’s safe to say that you won’t get bored using the same special attack or that one spell that blasts everything to pieces. ![]() Secrets of Grindea, like top-shelf and well known RPGs offers above decent variety when it comes to your skill build. ![]() This little gem offers you a blend of old-school RPG visuals and gameplay while under the hood, it’s pretty complex.īesides the initial character customization, in-game, you get to view stats, manage both gear and loot inventory, choose what abilities to learn from a rather large skill tree, view information on active quests and more.Īs far as the skill tree goes, it’s split into three sections, Combat, Magic and Support, each with multiple sub-categories that have several options. Pixel art RPG the way it should beĪt a first glance, Secrets of Grindea doesn’t look like much, especially if you’re into RPGs that burn your video card with jaw dropping graphics, advanced particles and so on. If you’re looking to play a relaxing and challenging role playing game that looks wonderful, has fluid animations, well thought out gameplay, humor and plenty more, then you seriously need to consider this one.
